A base coat is an important element in your UV gel enhancement services and should never be skipped. The gel systems were created with performance and safety in mind. While top coat sometimes can be incorporated into a gel color layer with some success, a base coat should never be skipped, especially as a means of saving money.
Here are a few reasons why it should not be skipped and why you should not fall for the misleading marketing of 2-in-1 products, especially those with strengthening properties that contain pigments:
- It prevents nail plate discoloration from pigments.
- It creates a 'safeguarding net' against under-cured product.
- It adds elasticity to your structured manicure, preventing it from cracking on thin, fragile, and flexible nails.
